​하와이 한인회, 3.1절 기념식 및 평화음악회 개최

하와이 한인회(회장 서대영)가 3.1절(현지시간)을 맞아 호놀룰루 소재 하와이 그리스도교회에서 기념식 및 평화음악회를 개최했다.

이날 열린 3.1절 기념식에 이서영 총영사, 서대영 한인회장, 박봉룡 민주평통 하와이협의회장, 동포사회 주요 단체장 및 교민들이 대거 참여했다.

기념식의 하이라이트는 한인 청년 및 학생 5명이 독립선언문을 부분 발췌해 낭독한 이벤트였다. 

낭랑하고 씩씩한 목소리로 독립선언문을 낭독한 청년 및 학생들은 한결같이 매년 보냈던 3.1절과 달리 올해 맞는 3.1절은 감회가 남다르다고 전했다.

"기미년 3월 1일 정오 터지자 밀물 같은 대한독립 만세~." 삼일절 노래를 제창한 참석자들은 일제히 상기된 표정으로 하나가 됐다.

서대영 한인회장은 "3.1운동이 갖는 단결 및 비폭력 평화의 정신은 1919년 세계 지구촌을 감동시켰고 비로소 대한민국의 독립을 이뤄냈다. 1903년 이민을 시작한 이민 한인선조들의 애국과 희생정신은 3.1운동과 같은 뿌리"라고 말했다.

한편 한국 대표 지휘자인 금난새 마에스트로가 2부 행사 평화음악회를 감동의 멜로디로 채웠다.

금난새 마에스트로는 성남 필하모닉 오케스트라 및 하와이 심포니 단원들과 협연해 헨델의 '시바여왕의 도착', 비발디의 사계중 '겨울' 등 명곡을 선물했다.

금 마에스트로는 "300여년전 어떻게 이런 아름다운 멜로디를 떠올렸을까 궁금한데, 비발디의 겨울을 보면서 멜로디 하나 하나에 자연이 주는 변화가 담겨있다고 해석할 수 있다"고 말했다.

실제 금 마에스트로가 이날 연주하는 각각의 곡에 대해 창작 배경과 의미를 해석하자 청중들은 고개를 끄덕이며 깊이 호응했다.

관람객 최모씨는 "금 선생님이 진행도 정말 감미롭게 하고 곡 해석도 재미있게 해서 감동의 연속"이라고 말했다.
 

평화음악회는 1903년 하와이에 이민한 선조들이 사탕수수밭 노동등 힘든 생활속에서도 조국의 독립을 위해 십시일반 독립자금을 모아 송금했다는 역사를 접한 금난새 마에스트로가 한인회의 공연요청을 전격 수락해 성사됐다.

하와이 심포니의 협연은 하와이에서 활동중인 남유선 바이올리니스트의 적극적인 설명과 협조요청 노력으로 가능했다.

한편, 성남시와 대명 소노그룹은 평화음악회를 후원했다.

The United Korean Association of Hawaii held a ceremony and a peace concert for the March 1 Independence Movement

Conducted by the maestro and interpreted the song, classical performances such as Seongnam City Hall and Hawaii Symphony's Vivaldi Four Seasons, are "impressed."

The United Korean Association of Hawaii(President Seo Dae Young) held a ceremony and peace concert at the Christian Church of Hawaii in Honolulu on the occasion of March 1st (local time).

Consul General Lee Seo-young, Korean President Seo Dae-young, President Park Bong-ryong, Chairman of the Hawaii Council for Democracy and Peace, and heads of major organizations and Korean residents participated in the March 1 Independence Day ceremony.

The highlight of the ceremony was an event in which five Korean youth and students read the Declaration of Independence in part.

Young people and students who read the Declaration of Independence in a roaring and brave voice said that unlike the March 1st Movement, which was sent every year, the March 1st Movement, which marks this year, is very emotional.

​

"Long live Korea's independence like the rising tide when it burst at noon on March 1st, Ki Mi Nyeon." Participants who sang the March 1st song became one with recalled expressions.

"The spirit of unity and nonviolent peace of the March 1st Movement touched the world in 1919 and finally achieved the independence of the Republic of Korea, and the spirit of patriotism and sacrifice of Korean immigrants who started immigration in 1903 is the same root as the March 1st Movement."" said Seo Dae Young, president of the Korean People's Association.

Meanwhile, Korea's leading conductor, Geum Nan Sae Maestro, filled the second part of the event's peace concert with a touching melody.

​

In collaboration with the Seongnam Philharmonic Orchestra and members of the Hawaiian Symphony, the Maestro presented masterpieces such as Handel's "The Arrival of Queen Shiva" and Vivaldi's "Winter" among the Four Seasons.

"I wonder how they came up with such a beautiful melody more than 300 years ago, and it can be interpreted that each melody contains changes from nature while watching Vivaldi's winter," said Geum maestro.

In fact, the audience nodded and responded deeply when the original background and meaning of each song played by the gold maestro on this day were interpreted.

The visitor Choi said, "It is a series of emotions because Mr. Geum was very sweet and interesting to interpret the song."

The peace concert was held in 1903 when the Maestro, who learned that his ancestors, who immigrated to Hawaii, collected and transferred general independence funds for the independence of his country despite difficult lives such as sugarcane field labor, accepted the Korean Association's request for a performance.

The Hawaii Symphony's collaboration was made possible by the active explanation and cooperation request efforts of violinist Nam Yoo Sun, who is active in Hawaii.

Meanwhile, Seongnam City and Daemyung Sono Group sponsored the Peace Concert.
